The Krew is proud to present the first stable KDE4 release of your favourite
file manager! The development process was all about porting, all dependencies to the Qt3 support libs have been removed. This is the first stable that comes with experimental support for the Windows platform. Who thought that day will ever come?
Even though this release contains quite a bunch of new features our main focus was to create a KDE4 version that is ready for everyday use. Overall the release is very usable but might contain bugs that haven't been present in prior versions. Please provide us bug reports, feedback and patches to make it as solid as the KDE3 version. Many thanks to everyone who supported us in the porting process!
Highlights:
- Archive dialog now remembers Compression level
- View properties for detailed/brief/interviews are merged into one
- Bugfixes
- I18n updates
Changes since 2.0.0-beta2 (but not limited to):
- A first version of the long awaited queue manager
- Five different sorting methods
- Highlight quick search match
- Possibility to select a predefined mouse selection mode and change a detail
- Fine tuning in the Useractions
- Many many bugfixes
Changes since 2.0.0-beta1 (but not limited to):
- Ported to KDE4 not using any of the Qt3 support libs
- Experimental support for the Windows platform
- Send emails with Thunderbird
- Attach multiple files to emails
- Submenus for categories in UserAction menu and context menu
- Select encoding in content search and krarc
- New synchronizer shortcuts
- Complete list of changes and enhancements is in the ChangeLog...

How can I get binary packages for Ubuntu Hardy Heron or Linpus Linux for atom (FC8 based distribution for Acer Aspire One)?
Compilation has been a complete disaster for me... It seems I'm too clumsy |

It's better to use (K)Ubuntu 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex" since it has a recent KDE 4.1.X
I think that (K)Ubuntu 8.4 "Hardy Heron" uses KDE 4.0 that has several issues (I'm not shure that there are KDE updates available).
I might try to build an AMD64 DEB package for (K)Ubuntu 8.4 "Hardy Heron" (If my old Hardy installation still works at least, I have not used it since ages).
For Linpus Linux, contact the maintainers of Linpus Linux and ask them to provide Krusader-2.0.0 Thanks! |

Thanks! I will upgrade to intrepid ibex a.s.a.p. (I use Hardy 32bit version, btw)
Unfortunately linpus lite is a fairly closed (and poorly maintained) distribution... for example, all the links to download it in www.linpus.com seem to be non functional. It came preinstalled in the computer (Acer Aspire One, a $200 netbook), and without krusader nor any obvious means to install anything. Searching in the net, I learned it was Fedora Core 8 based and how to execute yum (and yumex) and so I first upgraded to firefox 3 and second installed krusader, then a bunch of thinhs. Unfortunately, since it is based on fedora core 8, the repositories are not maintained, and I find too risky to fully upgrade the system, since the system is so "special" in hardware and limited in power...
I will probably try LinuxOne or Kuki Linux and try to install krusader 2 there... |

With the next detailled installation instructions you should be able to compile Krusader, even if you have no expericance with compiling.
If you get an error message, read it carefully, usually you have forgotten to install a package that is required to compile Krusader.

| Thanks for the packages Cimmo. I've added them to the SourceForge mirrors. |

First of all, thanks a lot for your great work on krusader!
Krusader 2 is fine piece of software.
Btw, on openSuse 11.1 there was short after your release a package available, but I will use the svn again, because the 2.0.0 has still some glitches
Thanks.
