Greetings, I have a simple command that extracts a tar file.
tar xvf "%aCurrent%"
It works ONLY if I have a path in the 'WorkDir'.

I just want to extract a tar to the current directory.

I don't want to have a hardcoded path in there.
Is there a variable that I can use to refer to the current path like (%aPath%)? that works in the workdir field? (that did not work by the way)

Help.

I have re-enabled Desktop Effects on my Lenovo-U300s. Krusader works very well.

On my HP-DV6, Desktop Effects work reasonably well, with the occasional freeze once per hour or so. But if I launch Krusader, then Kwin crashes. This is pretty much every time. And even after disabling Desktop Effects, Krusader is slower than on my Lenovo-U300s.

Both are clean installs of Kubuntu 11.10 64 bits from the same CD. I try to keep the very same configuration and software on both laptops.

I suspect some problem with some driver. It is, however, strange that Krusader crashes Kwin while other file managers don't. I haven't had much luck finding what the problem was. In the meantime my only workaround is not to use Krusader on the HP-DV6...

The same happens to me!

Steps:
1) Create a file named "std.vcf"
2) Press F4 to edit it
3) You get the error with the "You cannot edit a directory" message.

Hi, when I try a file operation on certain files (typically with no extension), Krusader tells me it is a directory and the operation can't be performed. For example, on F4 (edit) a pop-up comes up saying "You canot edit a directory". when I close the pop-up and use F4 again, the editor opens. In the panel the file is displayed correctly as a file with size and permissions, however the status in the bottom left corner of the window contradicts it saying 'filename (2206) folder'.
Is this a bug or am I missing some setting??

I use Krusader 2.4.0-beta1 "Migration" on KDE 4.7.3 installed from a package to Kubuntu 11.10.
However I had the same problem with several previous versions, it is not new.

when I launch Krusader it freezes, then I usually get an error message stating that the Desktop effects had to be disabled, if I don't get the error message I experience several more freezing incidents.

It doesn't happen with any other application I use as far as I've noticed. For instance, no problem with Dolphin, with Gnome commander, or with Midnight Commander, to name but a few of the ones I've tried.

Seems like useraction system is unaware of .bashrc; In case Yod like to make use of $PATH or $PYTHONPATH you'd need to execute

Code:

source ~/.bashrc

Putting this and the command after that doesn't help:

Code:

source ~/.bashrc; ~/its/plts/bio/bk-pymol-selects.py -f %aCurrent%

The above doesn't work. But the following does:

Code:

PATH=$PATH:/home/boris/its/soft/gromacs-4.5.5-single/bin:/home/boris/its/plts/bio; export PYTHONPATH=/home/boris/its/soft/PyMOL_1.4.1/modules:$PYTHONPATH; bk-pymol-selects.py -f %aCurrent%

Be careful - not to forget "export" in front of the PYTHONPATH - it won't work without it.

The following useraction supposed to copy the dir structure of the other panel to the active panel:

Code:

(cd %oPath%; find -type d ! -name .) | xargs mkdir

and it doesn't work! It does work from terminal - but does not - as a useraction. It says the dirs are already there.

Perhaps discussion can be moved somewhere else? A section on the KDE forums perhaps? It's low-traffic enough to be able to coexist without hassle.

The bots really took over the forum and to my shame i haven't done much to prevent that. Well not quite, i've applied several anti spam mods in the past but no one catches anymore. There is an captcha during registration btw, the bots know how to solve it. The phpbb version we use is horribly outdated and not maintained anymore, and i had no time to work on project besides doing the releases.

My situation changed a bit and actually i've build a completely new website for Krusader. It's more lightweight and we are currently discussing what to do with the forum. Using a section at the KDE forums sounds like a very good option.

(By the way, hate to bring a request here, but might be the only chance with all the spambot stuff...can you make it so the useractions manager start with the basic options instead of the advanced "white rectangle" options?)

So I can live with it. But without kio_krarc krusader isn't so much usefull.

krarc, judging from the git logs, seems to be disabled due to a bug with some formats (bz2?). There is a commented line in the cmake build files, if you enable that and rebuild krusader, krarc will be enabled again.

But, since a bug is the culprit, be aware of the risk.

with the newest git version I have a problem with opening archives as directories. Using "left key" to switch into the archive, gives the following error: krarc is disabled. Using the "enter" key gives the error: listening with protocol kio_krarc is not possible. Under settings, protocol for krarc is set as described in the help file. The krarc libs and protocol files are installed.
